01Context

About PinPredict

PinPredict is a new, fully remote market maker on prediction markets, funded by a tier 1 operator to build next-generation trading systems, leveraging huge industry IP and resources from that operator.

Our founding team includes true industry veterans with a vision for the future. We are building a lean, fully remote, senior team focused on high-performance systems, pragmatic engineering, and rapid iteration.

Who we are

02Mandate

The mission

Oversee our highly automated trading and make it better. Our markets are priced and traded by automated strategies — your job is to keep them running well in real time, and to move the needle on the strategy behind them: find and validate edge, and drive the safe rollout of improvements into live markets. You'll also help the team make sense of the large volumes of trading data we capture. We measure your impact in EV gains, fill quality, and uptime.

This is a live-markets role tied to the US sporting calendar. It is not a 9-to-5 — much of the action is on nights and weekends when games are played, and the trading team shares coverage across the schedule. We're looking for people who want that rhythm, not people who'll tolerate it.

03The work

What you will do

  • Oversee live automated trading. Monitor real-time performance, exposure, and risk across markets during live events, and understand why the book looks the way it does. Turn the knobs that sit on top of the automation to adjust algorithmic behavior as games unfold, and step in decisively — hedging or halting — when markets, data, or models misbehave.
  • Improve the strategy. Research, prototype, and validate pricing and edge improvements across sports prediction markets — sharper signals, better models, smarter quoting and risk logic.
  • Drive the rollout of strategy changes. Stage changes safely (shadow / canary / staged exposure), measure the impact honestly, and iterate. Own each change from idea to validated production behavior.
  • Make sense of our trading data. Help build and own the reporting that turns the large volumes of trading data we capture into insight — P&L attribution, fill quality, slippage, exposure, model performance. This work is heavily AI-assisted, and the trading team will increasingly own it end to end.
  • Backtest and simulate rigorously before anything touches a live market; build the analyses that tell you whether a change is real or noise.
  • Work hand-in-glove with engineering. Partner with the trading-systems team to turn strategy into production logic and to shape the tooling, controls, and guardrails you need to operate safely and quickly.
  • Bring trader judgment to the product — how we model instruments, pricing, settlement, and risk for sports prediction markets.

04Requirements

What you bring

  • Sports-betting domain knowledge (required) — see the section below. This is the one non-negotiable.
  • Some experience trading or betting markets — this can range from a couple of years as a trader at a sportsbook to a strong independent track record. We're open on level; aptitude and domain instinct matter more than years.
  • Good intuition for probability, statistics, and market dynamics; you think naturally in expected value, edge, and risk.
  • Comfort working with data and AI tools — pulling, analyzing, and summarizing trading data (Python and/or SQL), and using AI tools to move faster on reporting and research.
  • Python is plenty for this role; the ability to read or contribute C#/.NET is a plus, not a requirement (the hot-path trading engine is owned by the engineering team).
  • A quantitative foundation — a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated ability.
  • A flexible schedule. Willingness and genuine enthusiasm to work the hours US sports are played — nights and weekends — as part of a team that shares coverage of the calendar.
  • An ownership mindset and comfort with the ambiguity of an early-stage startup.
  • A genuine curiosity about and comfort with AI tools. You are already using AI to accelerate your work, you experiment on your own time, and you are energized — not intimidated — by how quickly this space is evolving. We are all learning together, and we want people who approach that with enthusiasm.

05Required

Domain knowledge

Strong candidates will have meaningful experience in at least one of the following:

  • Sportsbook / betting industry — You've worked at a sportsbook, exchange, or betting operator (trading, odds compilation, risk, or trading operations).
  • Personal betting track record — You bet your own money with a demonstrable edge and a real understanding of how prices move.
  • Financial markets / trading background — Exchange, derivatives, or systematic trading experience, paired with a genuine interest in sports and prediction markets.

06Bonus

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with prediction markets or exchange-style products.
  • Sports modeling — player props, game-state / in-play, correlated markets, live pricing.
  • Machine learning applied to trading, pricing, or signal generation.
  • Strength with data and reporting — SQL, BI / dashboards, building analyses and reporting pipelines.
  • Familiarity with C#/.NET or experience reading production trading code.
  • Experience operating automated strategies in production — staged/canary rollouts, kill switches, position and risk limits, post-trade analysis.

07The offer

Why apply

  • Shape the trading strategy of a prediction-market maker from the earliest stage.
  • Direct, measurable impact on product and P&L — you own the edge, not a slice of it.
  • Work alongside a small team of hard-working senior people — collaborative, and heavily AI-driven.
  • Backing and IP from an established tier 1 iGaming & sports betting group.
  • Fully remote (US time zones), with a flexible schedule built around live sport.
